Jimmie Vaughan Heats up the Summer NAMM Show

07/15/06 - 2006 Summer NAMM attendees were treated to a taste of a true Texas blues legend at Friday night’s Fender/NAMM Concert at the Austin Convention Center. Jimmie Vaughan, long a hero in Austin, Texas, tore through two sets – one acoustic and the second a nod to his barn-burning days with the Fabulous Thunderbirds. At various times he was joined onstage by fellow Austinites Derek O’Brien and Lou Ann Barton, as well as his own Tilt-A-Whirl Band.

During the first set Vaughan played his new signature guitar, the Gretsch G400JV Synchromatic Archtop. For the second set he switched to a battered Strat.
